Despite my best intentions of updating you on my progress with Entry #3 much sooner than this, I hit a bit of an unexpected roadblock; leaving me without a whole lot to give an update on. But now that things are back on track, I am ready to fill you in on exactly how I have faired in the 3 since my last entry.
Okay... So this might all end up sounding like one big fat smoking excuse, but I am going to tell you anyways! Right after I posted Entry #2, I was full of good intentions. And I mean FULL of them. I had planned on doing a daily count of the cigarettes I was smoking in order to monitor my progress. I even planned on making up a pretty little graph. I did this 'cigarette count' for the first few days with some success, forgetting the odd smoke here or there, but generally keeping pretty good track. However I slowly started forgetting more frequently, and then ran smack dab into my first eCig related roadblock.
When I purchased the eCig, I guess I didn't really accurately take into account how often I would need to change out the tank or atomizer (in my case the whole tank, as the eLuv Slim tank doesn't come apart to allow an atomizer change). At about the 2 week mark, I started noticing the flavour of the vapour was no longer quite the same. There was a slightly burnt taste to it, and I just didn't feel like I was getting the same 'craving relief' out of each haul as I seemed to get barely two weeks prior. Feeling discouraged, I stopped keeping track of daily smoke counts, as the numbers weren't exactly positively contributing to my 'quit smoking' morale. Adding to my discouragement was the fact that I wasn't able to obtain a new tank to fix the nasty little problem. Apparently the eLuv Slim is less than common and isn't EGO compatible (popular model of eCig). The eLuv is a nice, slim unit, but a not so easy to find parts for.
Soo.... Um.. In other words.... honest words...for the past 2 or so weeks, I have not been using much of the eCig. I admittedly have been smoking. I had certainly been trying my best to keep it to a minimum, but some days were more successful than others.
Getting Back On The Horse
Luckily, I was able to get my hands on 2 new tanks today, as well as 3 10ml vials of eJuice! After purchasing the last two tanks, I made sure to tell the owner of the store I bought them from (a local headshop) to order in more stock, because I would be back again soon!
Since I was such a big fan of the flavour I purchased last time, "Poems of the Universe" by 'It's Not Smoke, It's Just Vapour', I made sure to grab myself another vial. As for the other two, I decided I should try something new. I ended up going with a vial of "Raspberry" as well as a bottle of "Loosely Mango", both also by 'It's Not Smoke, It's Just Vapour'.
Check out the photos of today's haul!
Now that I have the supplies I need to get back to vaping, I am going in with a bit of a different plan. I am not going to discourage myself by trying to keep a meticulous count of each cigarette I have. What I am going to do, is not buy any more cigarettes for myself, and just slowly do my best to cut down. Not the results I was honestly hoping for by this point, but kicking an addiction can take time and effort. I know that one all too well...
As long as I stay positive, continue to use the eCig in place of smoking when I have a craving, and try my best not to get overly discouraged, I still think that quitting is something I can accomplish in time.
